NEMA
NEMA PE 7-2018 is a published standard from NEMA, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, for power equipment in communication type battery systems. It deals with the chargers and rectifiers that keep batteries floated and carry direct-current loads in telecommunications and similar installations.

The document sets out common expectations for how communication type battery power equipment is rated, how it performs, and how that performance is demonstrated. It addresses output and regulation behavior while the equipment supports both a battery and a connected load, the supply-side conditions it must tolerate, and the kinds of tests used to prove it. Manufacturers use it to design and verify rectifiers and chargers, owners and operators cite it in purchase specifications, and testing engineers consult it when checking charger or rectifier performance and hunting for direct-current ground problems during commissioning and maintenance. It is often read next to the earlier NEMA document for utility type chargers, since the duties are related but the applications differ.
